They fall in love, they elope together, they dazzle the world and – often – they split up in spectacular fashion.
Over the years we have become accustomed to witnessing the start and the end of many celebrity couples.
Here are the most famous, beautiful, iconic and powerful duos that you have definitely heard about already!
Chiara Ferragni and Fedez
The influencer and the rapper are the absolute queen and king of social media, not just in Italy, where they are both from, but all over the world.
Ferragni is the founder of “The Blonde Salad”, initially a fashion blog, now an established and fruitful retail business, counting on a whopping 17 million followers on Instagram. Ferragni’s other half, Federico Leonardo Lucia, AKA Fedez, is one of the most famous and successful rappers in Italy and equally popular on social media, thanks to his faithful 8 million followers. Together, the couple is followed by an astonishing 25 million people, the entire population of Australia!
Their wedding, aptly dubbed #Ferragnez on social media, was one of the most popular events of last year and consisted of a three-day party at a luscious castle in Sicily.
The couple has a son together Leone. It goes without saying that their one-year-old boy is a regular presence on their Instagram stories and it is estimated that it won’t be long until he starts racking up his own followers!
Prince William and Kate Middleton
One of the most photographed couples in the entire world, Prince William and Kate Middleton met while both attending St. Andrews University in Scotland.
She was studying art at the time and allegedly caught the Prince’s attention at a university fashion show thanks to a very revealing dress she was wearing while strutting down the catwalk.
After years of a long-distance relationship and several royal broken protocols, the couple tied the knot on April 29th 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London, in which was probably the wedding of the century.
Young, glamorous and not afraid to distance themselves from tradition, what is remarkable about the couple is the fact that they are equally at ease during royal ceremonies, as they are when hanging out with other celebrities, such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
On top of that, they seem genuinely in love with each other, a feature that, as we all know, is sadly not always the most important one in a royal couple.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are what we can definitely call a cool couple and the beginning of their love story is surprisingly relatable to many people. They were working together on a music video, had a casual hookup … and the rest is history!
A very common story for a really uncommon duo. The top model, who appeared on the prestigious “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue” cover back in 2014, told Cosmopolitan how they met:
“I walked into John’s dressing room to meet him, and he was ironing in his underwear. “I said: ‘You do your own ironing!?’ He said, ‘Of course I do.’ I gave him a hug.”
Their love story progressed at a low pace, as the singer told Entertainment Tonight: “I wasn’t like, ‘This is the woman I’m going to marry from day one.”
Only a couple of years later I could see us being together forever.”
It might have started off slowly, but it definitely picked up the pace throughout the years!
The Weeknd and Bella Hadid
American top model Bella Hadid and Canadian singer The Weeknd allegedly began dating in 2015, but made their official debut on the red carpet in front of photographers only a year later, when they showed up at the 58th Grammy Awards hand-in-hand.
That night proved very fruitful for The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, as he was nominated for a stunning seven awards and won the best urban contemporary album and the best R&B performance of the year.
“It was a big night for him,” Hadid told Glamour magazine.
“He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend, I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.”
Unfortunately, as it often happens with celebrities from different industries, their love story ended in 2016. However, for two years he would often attend fashion shows around the world featuring his ex-girlfriend.
But here’s your happy ending, as they got back together and, to top it all, last year they signed a lease for a penthouse in New York.
Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton
Rami Malek won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Bohemian Rhapsody” as Freddie Mercury, who famously had a wonderful lifelong, albeit complicated love story with Mary Austin, played in the movie by actress Lucy Boynton.
Well wouldn’t you know it, Malek and Boynton started their own love story after the movie as well! The actor confirmed the relationship last January while accepting the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala, where he said:
“Thank you, Lucy Boynton, you have been my ally, my confidant, you are my love. I appreciate you so much.”
But that wasn’t Malek’s only love declaration for Boynton. While speaking on a panel at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last February, he admitted that he didn’t have to act in his scenes with the actress because he was so madly in love with her.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez
Singer Jennifer Lopez and baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez are true idols around the world for millions of fans, and especially for the Latino community, who always saw them as an inspiration for the numerous achievements they earned throughout their different careers.
To top it all, the two are now officially engaged and about to walk down the aisle in one of the most awaited celebrity weddings of the year.
Interestingly enough, J-Lo and A-Rod met for the first time in 2005 at a game in New York, where he was playing for the New York Yankees, but they reconnected 12 years later.
Rodriguez recently revealed that he actually received a signed photo of his future bride back in the ’90s, which he has kept ever since. He posted the picture on Instagram, accompanied by the perfect hashtag.
It was destiny that they would end up together sooner or later!
Victoria and David Beckham
One of the world’s most celebrated and beloved couples, football legend David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria Adams began dating in 1997, while they were both constantly in the spotlight and at the top of their respective careers.
After meeting at a charity football match back in 1997, they began to see each other fairly regularly but also quite secretly, as he told Hello! Magazine earlier this year: “For the first three months, it was amazing because no one found out about us being together. We loved that because we could sneak around. Our first kiss was in the car park of a restaurant. We used to drive to places and just spend as much time together as possible. That was an amazing time in our relationship.”
The iconic duo got engaged in 1999 and, later that year, they married at the astonishing Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland.
Now celebrating their 20-year-anniversary, this power couple has had four children and they are still today one of the most recognisable and certainly fashionable celebrity couples in the world.
Zac Efron and Sarah Bro
Perhaps the most recent love story of this list, the High School Musical star Zac Efron has begun dating Danish Olympic Games swimmer just last March.
The two were first spotted together at a gym class in Los Angeles last January and they continued to fuel rumours after sitting next to each other during a UFC fight in Las Vegas.
The handsome Efron was romantically involved with a great number of beautiful women over the years, most notably with “Baywatch” co-star Alexandra Daddario, fellow actress Michelle Rodriguez and singer Vanessa Hudgens… an impressive resume indeed!
However, Efron felt that he wasn’t always so lucky in his dating life: “A date has to be very long to dispel whatever people think about me. Amazingly, when I signed up for Tinder, nobody swiped me! They thought it was fake!”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
The only other royal couple on our list, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity seems to be on the rise each day that passes.
Prince William’s younger brother met his wife over drinks in July 2016 and immediately knew they wanted to see each other again, as she recently revealed.
Harry made the next bold move, as, after only two dates in, he asked her out… in another country!
“I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana and we camped out with each other under the stars,” he told the BBC. “We were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to get to know each other.”
Harry and Meghan became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on May 19th 2018 when they tied the knot in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas
The happy couple is half-way through their first wedding anniversary and in full marital bliss!
The couple made headlines when they decided to tie the knot in December 2018 with two lavish weddings in India, at the span of 3 days.
Miss World 2000 pageant, Chopra admitted to having reservations over their relationship, when they first started dating in 2017 and wasn’t sure if it would have worked out or not.
Songwriter and singer Nick was able to dismiss all of the actress’ doubts and managed to sweep her off her feet, and got the Yes he was praying for.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are one of the most powerful and popular celebrity couples of all time.
They first met in 1999, when she was 18 and the face of popular band Destiny’s Child, but they only started dating a year later, as Queen B revealed to Oprah Winfrey in a famous OWN interview: “We were on the phone for a year and a half, and that foundation is so important for a relationship.”
2003 was a key year for the couple, as Beyoncé released a song called “Crazy in Love” featuring Jay-Z, ending up winning the Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration awards at the 2004 Grammy Awards.
After just over eight long years of dating, the couple tied the knot in 2008 and, despite his alleged cheating moment in 2016, subtly told by Beyoncé song “Lemonade”, the two, who also have three kids, are still happy together.
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady
American football star Tom Brady, who is considered by many to be the best player ever and six-time winner of the Super Bowl trophy, and wife Brazilian top model Gisele Bündchen are without any doubt one of the world’s most beloved celebrity couples.
Their relationship, still going wonderfully strong which spans over a decade and has produced two beautiful children. Although Brady was in a relationship when he first met her back in 2006, they hit it off immediately.
Brady broke up with his girlfriend at the time, actress Bridget Moynahan, and Gisele knew it was love at first sight, as she told Vanity Fair in n interview:
“I knew right way, the first time I saw him. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
When talking about iconic celebrity couple, it is absolutely impossible not to mention the celebrated and at times controversial love story between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
The two were actually friends for a long time before they started dating, as they were regular attendees at Paris Hilton’s famous parties back in the early 2000s. Kim and Kanye made their first public appearance as a couple in 2012, on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in and at the Paris Fashion Week.
Since then, they made sure the world knew how much in love they are with each other in every single imaginable way. From provocative video appearances (check out Kanye’s “Bound 2” music video!), to saucy magazine covers, the couple is surely not shy when expressing their love for each other.
Kim and Kanye got married in Florence in May 2014, after getting engaged on Kim’s 33rd birthday and have four children together.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
It seems that it is a family tradition for the Jonas family to be celebrating each of their marriages twice. Likewise, her sister-in-law Priyanka, Sophie Turner, Game Of Thrones star, married the love of her life, one of the Jonas brothers Joe Jonas.
The happy couple owes their love to social media, specifically Instagram as their relationship started after Jonas started personal messaging Turner back in 2016.
However, their relationship only made tabloids when they were seen all cosied up in dinner sessions and out and about together, without yet confirming anything.
The confirmation of their relationship came from Joe’s brother, Nick on an Instagram post that was reading: “These 2 ❤️” the night of Katy Perry’s after-party.
By October 2017, the couple made it official when Sophie Turner was seen rocking a massive rock on her engagement finger! On May 2019 the couple exchanged vows in Las Vegas followed by a second more formal wedding in France, in June 2019.
Sophie admits that Joe has been her remedy for depression making us even happier for the match-made-in-heaven duo!
